St Michael’s Church, Sunninghill

Paddy designed the altar rail within the Lady Chapel to reflect the proportions of the Gothic architecture. The sense of hierarchy within the new altar rail across it’s opening width followed strict proportions so that the vista’s through the rail were framed by carefully profiled sections.

The timber selected was quarter sawn oak from consecutive boards of boule stock planks of wood with bark, all from the same log. This guaranteed colour and grain consistency.
